Meet Kelly, an experienced project manager and the newest member of the Newicon team! Kelly is excited about hitting the ground running and getting stuck in with all of the exciting new projects scheduled to kick off in Q2 of 2024!
What’s your working background, and how did you come to work for Newicon?
After I completed a Masters in Neuropsychology at the University of Bristol, I began working as a Data Analyst in a small RegTech company in Bristol. After a few years in Analysis and then in the Support Manager role, I was promoted to Head of Programmes - where I managed all of the projects within the company. After taking a year of Maternity Leave, I decided I needed a fresh career challenge. It was this decision which led me to Newicon.
Describe your job to a six-year-old
I make sure people know what to do and when to do it.
What are you looking forward to working on the most?
The variety of projects and clients that Newicon has exposure to excites me a lot. In my previous workplace, there were only 2 SaaS products that were sold to very similar clients each time.
What tech breakthroughs do you think we’ll be seeing in the next ten years?
AI will become even more omnipresent
What do you like doing outside of work, any unusual hobbies?
Hiking, camping, going to music festivals, different crafts (baking, sewing)
Favourite film/TV show/podcast?
It’s so hard to pick favourites, but I’m currently watching Succession and listening to the Wolf & Owl podcast.
What book should everyone read?
Oryx & Crake by Margaret Attwood
